大家肯定都知道，睡眠很重要。特别是对于儿童癫痫患者，充足的睡眠，规律的生活，不仅能增强患儿抵御疾病的能力，而且由于睡眠不足是诱发癫痫发作的常见因素，因此有意识的避免通宵熬夜、每天准时整点睡觉，还能降低癫痫疾病发作的几率，有利于患者的身体健康。每到节日期间，小儿神经内科门诊接收的儿童癫痫患者要比平时多，而发病原因多与睡眠不足、生活不规律、饮食不节制有关。

因此，建议有条件的家庭，最好能让癫痫患儿午睡。另外，在睡觉时还应注意患儿睡眠姿势，最好养成仰卧位或侧卧位的睡姿习惯，尽量避免俯卧位特别是脸趴在枕头上睡的姿势，因为脸压在枕头上容易阻塞呼吸道。夜间发作频繁的患儿更应避免俯卧位睡眠。

所用枕头的枕芯也应该硬一些，如选用荞麦皮枕头，不要用大而软的枕头。当然患者家属也不必过度紧张，有些家长对孩子过分关注，自从孩子被诊断为癫痫后，精神极度紧张，孩子入睡后有时手或脚偶尔动一下，也认为是癫痫发作。其实这样的表现大部分不是癫痫发作，而是睡眠肌阵挛，正常小孩也可见到，属于正常现象，家长们应该放松心态，这样才可能配合医生更好的治疗疾病。
