避免诱发癫痫的因素要养成良好的生活规律，按时作息，避免工作过度紧张、劳累和熬夜，避免情绪激动，避免强光刺激，避免受惊吓，因为有的病人受惊吓后很容易出现癫痫发作。个别人看电视时间过长也会诱发，所以要避免让病人长时间看电视。不宜饮酒，因酒精会影响脑细胞代谢，促进病情加重和诱发癫痫发作;避免便秘。病人若遇到感冒发热时要特别当心，因体温升高可诱发癫痫发作，所以当体温高达39℃时则应马上采用降温措施，并加大抗癫痫药的药量，以免癫痫发作。
