还有一些孩子家长可尝试采取鼓励的方法，如赞扬孩子不怕服药的勇敢精神，而且在适当的时候给玩具等。但应讲明玩具是对他勇敢精神的鼓励，并不是因为服药才送的，这是为了避免患儿将服药作为一种手段来刁难父母。儿童都有好胜心理，必要时家长可以用示范的方式引诱孩子服药;如用面粉做成和药物外形一样的“假药”，请患儿的兄妹或是玩伴做示范性服用，诱使孩子自己服药。
